In 2012 and 2013, the Penobscot River Restoration Trust hired me to conduct the HABS/HAER photography and research of the remains of the original dams that had long lain within the impoundments of the Great Works and Veazie hydroelectric dams in the Penobscot River in Maine. The two dams had been removed as a result of extensive negotiations among multiple conservation groups, the State of Maine, Native American tribes, and the former owners of the hydroelectric plants.
